Ivan Schneedorfer finds his Muse in diverse places. After reading The Stories of the Greeks and The Odyssey, he has produced a new collection of poems inspired by these books. In this third Shoreline volume of poems — his homage to Homer — we see the same gentle, ironic or playful humour that underlies so many of his poems. Judy Isherwood says, “I love to see how he can put such depth of feeling into a few short words. One of my favourite poems in his new collection begins:

it’s a long time
since we danced
but we never
left the ballroom”
