TAPESTRY

Author: Barbara Young

Synopsis: A unique collection of stories by three generations of the Robertson family of Pointe Claire, Quebec.

It was a friend’s casual remarks that started me on this project. “A lot of your relatives seem to like writing,” she had said, and I checked through my files to see if she was right. She was. As I read and re-read the pieces, I realized their reminiscences, stories and poems wove a unique and colourful tapestry of family words.  –Barbara Young.

Born in Montreal, Barbara Robertson Young grew up on the Lakeshore. After raising her family, she rejoined the work force, joining the staff of McGill University and retiring in 1988. She is the author of Chasing Grandma, about a Home Child, her grandmother.

Tapestryis her second book. It includes early memories of Pointe Claire Village, family outings by motor and sail, and two trips by her brother Ian on his sailboat, Bente, in Europe and Scandinavia.
